Having rescued Hutchy's Refrigeration & Electrical from the clutches of the overpriced and under-delivering LocalSearch company on the Gold Coast, we started the process by designing their custom-coded Cairns website design earlier in the month. With the brand new website online and already delivering leads through the lead generator we programmed for them, it was time to look into their marketing exposure.
This client already has experience with Google Ads, with a 12 month LocalSearch managed campaign where they were paying in excess of $3,000 per month (!) for about 20 clicks on their ads. This is not financially feasible or cost efficient and would never be sustainable for the return on investment being achieved.
At Allcorp, we've been managing Google Ads for our clients for much longer than the LocalSearch phone book guys and we have been official Google Partners since the Google Partners program began. With our superior skillset with managing Google Ads, we've learnt many tricks of the trade that can only be discovered through experience.
One thing we know for sure, we don't want our client budget to be eaten up by residential electrical searches. The last thing our client needs is to deplete their budget for a $20 click by a search for replacing a light switch - This is not the type of work they want to do as they are specialists in providing electrical, HVAC and refrigeration services for the commercial and industrial sector.
To achieve results for our client we've set all their keywords under the Exact Match definition. Normally, we'd set up a campaign with what are termed Broad Match search keywords. These are designed to use machine learning to expand on the searches as Google see fit. So we may have a Broad Match keyword for Commercial Airconditioner Installation but Google AI would soon allow searches for more domestic related searches to trigger the ads.
By using Exact Match search keywords, we put a wall around what keywords we're allowing to see their ads and ensuring that the clicks they get, and pay for, are relevant for their business. This, in turn, will help Hutchy's Refrigeration & Electrical maintain a Google Ads presence without wasting their budget on redundant search terms.
